Seeing the famous pyramids of Egypt was on our list, it just wasn't at the top. But when some friends we had met in Chile suggested we go there, we decided it'd be interesting. Now that we've done some reading, we find that it's not only interesting, it's exciting to think about experiencing a culture that has been present for thousands of years. Our reading has taken us back over four thousand years!! It's truly perplexing how old are the artifacts that we are going to witness and many of them in such amazing condition.
So, we are busy packing, reading, and thinking about what we are going to absorb, taste and experience. We have one more week to finish our preparations or to try to finish. I think we'll never be fully prepared for what we are about to learn.
